Hair loss is a genetic problem. What if a one-time treatment could resolve this problem for up to two years?
Current research into stem cell therapy has only scratched the surface of the possibilities in regenerative medicine. One of the most exciting developments is the discovery that stem cell therapy can be an effective hair restoration treatment. You may have been genetically programmed for balding or thinning hair – but this innovative treatment gives you the opportunity to change the program, and continue to have a thick, healthy head of hair, or increase hair growth if your hair is thinning.
WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?
Stem cells are specialized cells in our bodies that have the capacity to change into any healthy cell in our body. They have the ability to replicate substantially as compared to other cells. Stem cells are located through out the body in almost every organ and tissue, including hair follicles. However, stem cells also age as we do and become less prevalent in the tissues.
WHERE DO THE STEM CELLS COME FROM?
At Adore Aesthetix, we inject stem cells into the scalp to stimulate dormant hair follicles to again produce healthy hair. We use stem cells derived from the umbilical cord after delivery of a baby. This is the safest and least-invasive method of extraction available and results in young, healthy stem cells.
The product contains 30 million live nucleated stem cells and is mixed with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). This combination is injected into the scalp in the balding areas.
HOW DO STEM CELLS WORK FOR HAIR RESTORATION?
In tissue and hair regeneration, stem cells produce a signal to induce changes in nearby cells, altering the behavior of those cells. When stem cells are injected into the scalp, they are believed to exert a paracrine effect by inducing hair cells to become more active. One proposed cause for hair loss includes decreased blood supply to hair follicles, causing a slow decrease in their function. This can come from aging, genetics, or an autoimmune disease. A second proposed cause is inflammation. Stem cells have been shown to both increase the formation of new blood vessels and to have a very strong anti-inflammatory effect, which can result in the stimulation of dormant hair follicles.
At Adore Aesthetix, all Stem Cell hair restoration services in Denver are performed by Sarah Kurts, Board Certified Physician Assistant.
