Defy Lines with Juvéderm Ultra Plus

As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with Juvéderm Ultra Plus injectable gel, you don’t have to just sit back and let it happen! Juvéderm is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Juvéderm Ultra Plus is a thicker version of Juvéderm Ultra. This product is used to correct the more severe facial wrinkles and deep folds, as well as to fill in depressed areas in the cheeks. At Adore Aesthetix, all Juvéderm injections are performed by Sarah Kurts, Board Certified Physician Assistant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Juvéderm Ultra Plus?

A: Juvederm Ultra Plus injectable gel is a hyaluronic acid gel injected into areas of facial tissue to add volume and restore a smoother appearance to the face.

Q: What is Hyaluronic Acid?

A: Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body.  The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water, and to act as a cushioning agent.

Q: How does it work?

A: The Juvederm Ultra Plus gel is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe wrinkles and folds occur (most often around the nose and mouth). The injected gel adds immediate volume and restores a smoother appearance to the face.

Q: What is the difference between Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus?

A: Like Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus, the basic functions are the same. However, Juvederm Ultra Plus is a more dense form of this cosmetic injection.  It is also the most cross-linked version.  Hence, it has a greater filling-up-volume effect where cheeks, lips, naso-genian folds, general folds, and very deep nasolabial folds are concerned.

Q: What should I know before my treatment?

A: You should stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements for 2 weeks prior to injection, to decrease your risk of bruising at injection site.

Q: What should I expect after my treatment?

A: After the procedure there is minimal recovery or downtime. You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. One treatment could smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year! However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results. Risks include bruising at site of injections.
